Well we said we would do it again and here we are! Packing up our home, quitting jobs, selling possessions, saying goodbye to friends and loved ones and leaving everything that is familiar and comforting behind. No more abundance of hot water, wardrobes full of clothes, netflix to entertain and a clean comfy bed. To some, that sounds like a nightmare of epic proportion. To us, it is an experience that awakens our senses, opens our hearts and our minds and allows us to live each day by the seat of our pants. It is the thrill of the unknown that keeps driving us on.... and I doubt this will be the last time either, just saying.
The Plan (or lack there of)
South America Stole our hearts back in 07 and we vowed to come back and reach places that we didn't have the time to do before. Unlike last time, we do actually have a final destination. Once our trip has come to an end, we will be moving downunder to Melbourne to start the next chapter of our lives, which we are very excited about. As for what will happen or where we will be between now and then is a bit of a mystery. We will spend December and Christmas in Melbourne and New Zealand with family and then the adventure begins in Santiago, Chile. Our plan is to buy some sort of car and hope to cover Argentina, Uruguay, Paraguay and most of all Brazil.
Lebowski
Our Family
If Lebowski wasn't preparing for quarantine for the move to Australia, he would certainly be hitting the road with us. But in the mean have left our little man in the very capable and loving hands of our friends, Tim and Steph (and paws of Charlie). I am not sure how we will survive everyday without his kisses, but he is very understanding about the trip and didn't show any interest to learn Spanish anyway.
